Job Summary

As a Patient Care Assistant in the Cardiac Monitor Unit at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support. Under the supervision of licensed personnel, you will perform activities of daily living for patients and assist with unit activities that support patient care. Your primary responsibility will be to create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients, while also contributing to their emotional and physical well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed personnel with patient care activities, including bathing, dressing, and feeding patients.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, including cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Provide emotional support and comfort to patients, while also respecting their privacy and dignity.
• Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documenting patient care activities and observations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; American Heart Association (AHA) certification preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred; nursing students actively enrolled in a nursing program may also be considered.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred; ability to learn and use electronic medical records (EMRs) required.
