We are seeking a highly energetic and customer-focused Customer Service Representative to join our team at Waste Connections in San Jose, CA.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing exceptional service to our customers and resolving any issues that may arise.
Key Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve customer disputes and provide timely resolutions.
- Interview customers, record interview information, and communicate with customers via phone and in person to receive orders for installation, turn on, discontinuance, or change in service.
- Fulfill contract forms, determine charges for service requested, collect deposits, prepare change of address records, and issue discontinuance orders.
- Demonstrate proficiency in software applications, including MS Word and Excel.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, interacting with customers and Waste Connections employees to determine service requirements and resolve problems or complaints.
- Work in a high-volume, cooperative environment, soliciting sales of new or additional services.
- Cover the reception desk when necessary.
- Work in an office setting with a clean, ventilated, and well-lit environment.
- Customer Service Representatives typically have their own workstation or cubicle space, equipped with a telephone, headset, and computer.
- CSR call areas can be noisy, and work may be repetitive and stressful, with little time in between calls, while still providing excellent service.
- Long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen are common.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 2 years of customer service experience.
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Email preferred. Typing and 10-key skills are required.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems, gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
