PCL - Junior Stateroom Steward (Japanese Speaking) - Hospitality Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Stateroom Steward to join our team at Holland America Group. As a Junior Stateroom Steward, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our guests and ensuring that their staterooms are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities- Exceeding Guest Expectations: Consistently exceed the housekeeping specific targets and other key result areas, reducing friction points and avoiding negative surprises.
- Embracing Technology: Embrace and utilize Princess MedallionClass products, services, and applications to enhance the guest experience.
- Service Excellence: Be accountable and take ownership of a consistent product delivery, correctly applying the Service Excellence philosophy.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other onboard teammates to provide an outstanding guest experience, maintaining a high level of communication and teamwork.
- Housekeeping and Sanitation: Maintain the Company's standard of housekeeping, sanitation, and maintenance, adhering to HESS protocols.
- Stateroom Preparation: Prepare and consistently maintain a clean and sanitized, welcoming, and personalized room experience for our officers, in accordance with brand standards.
- Anticipating Guest Needs: Anticipate and take ownership of our officer needs and requests, taking ownership of maintenance issues and following up for timely resolution.
- Supporting Colleagues: Support the Stateroom Stewards with various tasks, such as linen/supplies delivery, stateroom cleaning and sanitization, transfer of dirty linen or trash from decks to the laundry/incinerator room, etc.
- Knowledge and Expertise: Actively learn and be knowledgeable to answer questions on product, policy, demographic, itinerary, and port information.
- Resource Management: Responsibly use consumable items, stateroom supplies, linen, and cleaning chemicals, avoiding unnecessary waste.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain assigned equipment clean and in good condition, avoiding misuse and unjustifiable wear and tear.
- Cultural Awareness: Embrace an inclusive and diverse culture, instill our Shared Purpose, Core Values, and CRUISE service essentials.
- Knowledge Sharing: Share best practices and efficiencies with the Rooms Division leadership team and colleagues.
- Company Updates: Embrace Company updates and strategies to deliver on our guest experience commitment.
- Emergency Procedures: Confidently perform General Emergency Procedures and duties with a sense of urgency as directed by HESS.
- Waste Management: Follow appropriate procedures for the correct handling and sorting of garbage, bio-hazardous, and sharps waste as indicated in the Stateroom Steward Training Manual.
- Compliance and Safety: Collaborate with persons in charge to create a safe and compliant environment while fostering a commitment to Operation Oceans Alive.
- Public Health Standards: Comply with company expectations and standards, including HESS policies, and maintain current, accurate knowledge of public health standards.
- Outbreak Response: Promptly help coordinate onboard resources to respond to outbreak situations that necessitate increased sanitation levels.
- Public Health and Environmental Knowledge: Full understanding of Public Health and Environmental requirements relating to public areas.
- Language Skills: Must have a complete command of the English language.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a comparable hospitality establishment and servicing guest rooms.
- Language Proficiency: Good command of English Language, both spoken and written, and fluent Japanese language skills.
- Guest Service: Understanding of the foundation of guest service; ability and willingness to deliver outstanding service to our guests.
- Motivation and Communication: Motivation to excel in all aspects of job duties and responsibilities, and personable communicator with outstanding social skills and a warm, friendly, and caring personality.
- Continuous Improvement: Ability to continuously surprise and delight guests throughout their cruise experience.
- Cultural Competence: Commitment to establish and maintain courteous and professional working relationships in a diverse cultural environment.
