About the Role

We are seeking a skilled leader to oversee Daemen University's Comprehensive Transition Post-secondary (CTP) program. This program supports students with intellectual disabilities in achieving academic, career, and independent skills.

As the Program Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the program's vision, goals, and objectives. You will work closely with faculty, staff, and community partners to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.


Key Responsibilities

Some key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing and refining the overall vision, goals, and objectives of CTP;
  • Designing and supporting implementation of innovative curriculum frameworks and instructional methodologies;
  • Collaborating with faculty, staff, and community partners to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment;
  • Engaging in program fund development opportunities;
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations;
  • Recruiting and enrolling students with intellectual disabilities;
  • Aiding in the development and/or facilitation of internships;

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a master's or doctoral degree in Education, Special Education, Disability Studies, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work, or a related field. You should have substantial experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and strong leadership qualities.

Familiarity with federal and state laws governing disability rights, special education, and postsecondary education is also essential, as is expertise in curriculum development, program design, and assessment methodologies.
