Director of Learning Center and Operations Manager

About the Position:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Learning Center and Operations Manager to join our team at Trocaire College. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and managing the day-to-day operations of the Learning Center, which houses various programs including HEOP, tutoring, learning labs, supplemental instruction, and computer lab.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage personnel, assist with search committees, and coordinate scheduling for all components of the Learning Center.
  • Serve as Director of Trocaire's Opportunity Program (TOP), supervise the TOP Coordinator, develop programming, oversee summer programs, assess program effectiveness, and submit required reports to NYSED.
  • Develop and implement Learning Center policies and procedures, monitor departmental budget, and stay up-to-date with current trends in developmental education and learning assistance programs.
  • Design and organize tutor training content, develop academic support workshops, maintain records and reports, track and assess program effectiveness, and support college-wide assessment plans.
  • Collaborate with Academic Deans, Program Directors, and faculty to develop programming addressing remediation and retention, work with faculty and advisors to address student learning outcomes and concerns, and promote services through educational workshops.
Requirements:
  • A Master's degree in education, educational counseling, higher education, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in higher education in an administrative or management capacity is required, with at least three years of experience in a learning center environment.
  • The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, be able to effectively communicate ideas and information to diverse groups, and have a commitment to enriching students' lives by promoting a positive learning environment.
