Key Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Conduct intake assessments and connect clients with community resources that foster economic and social self-sufficiency.
  • Assist clients in navigating local systems and accessing essential services, including employment, healthcare, and education.
  • Support clients in building social networks that alleviate stress from physical or mental health challenges.
  • Coordinate appointments and provide transportation assistance as needed.
  • Provide coverage for colleagues when required.

Advocacy:

  • Represent the interests of refugees and immigrants, collaborating with agencies that serve these populations.
  • Identify and address barriers that hinder clients from accessing necessary services, working with providers to create viable solutions.
  • Promote client rights and facilitate access to social services and mental health programs.
  • Coordinate language assistance for clients and aid in service entitlement applications.

Data Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and services in case files.
  • Complete required documentation and reporting in a timely manner.
  • Ensure precise data entry in accordance with established guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with community resources and services.
  • Knowledge of refugee and immigrant issues.
  • Proficient in internet research and computer applications, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Appreciation for cultural diversity and sensitivity to language differences.
  • Fluency in a language other than English is advantageous.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and manage time effectively.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and responsibilities.
  • Client-focused mindset, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and meeting deadlines.

Additional Information
This role requires travel between various locations, necessitating a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and appropriate insurance coverage. Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is also required upon hiring.
