Job Summary

Tufts University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Animal Care Attendant to join our team. As an Animal Care Attendant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our veterinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including feeding, cleaning, and maintaining patient areas
  • Assist veterinary technicians with daily treatments, procedures, and patient care
  • Clean and maintain clinical spaces, including cages, kennels, and equipment
  • Transport patients between services and facilities
  • Assist with patient visits, drop-offs, and discharges
  • Perform laundry services and assist with patient remains
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical training or associate's degree preferred
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic medical record systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation
  • Knowledge of animal behavior, restraint, feeding, and basic sanitation preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational/technical training or associate's degree with one or more years of experience
  • Knowledge of exotic animal handling and care
