Your Work Environment

Upon entering our modern clinic, you will be welcomed by expansive windows that provide natural light and captivating views. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a cloud-based management system, a Cubex pharmacy for controlled substances, digital radiography (including dental imaging), an in-house IDEXX laboratory suite, and advanced anesthesia monitoring systems.

Role Summary

The Principal Veterinarian is tasked with comprehensive oversight and accountability for all aspects of the hospital. This position is focused on delivering exceptional veterinary care, outstanding client service, fostering the well-being and productivity of the veterinary team, and ensuring the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Care and Service: Ensure the provision of consistent, high-quality veterinary care and exceptional service to maintain a positive hospital environment and uphold medical standards.
  • Operational Support: Collaborate with the Practice Manager to enhance hospital operations, actively participate in team meetings, and develop annual plans and budgets.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide Associate Veterinarians to help them achieve their professional goals and deliver outstanding medical care.
  • Training and Development: Oversee effective training programs for staff, ensuring adherence to established protocols and achieving practice priorities.
  • Compliance: Practice veterinary medicine in accordance with state regulations and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Community Engagement: Lead outreach efforts and marketing initiatives to promote the hospital within the community.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree.
  • State Veterinary Board License in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a veterinary practice.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or management role is preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • This position is performed onsite at the hospital.
  • Ability to work over 40 hours per week, including potential weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Physical capability to lift over 50 pounds and perform various physical tasks.
