About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Care Specialist to join our team at Banfield Pet Hospital. As a key member of our hospital staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of care for our furry patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting Veterinary Care
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing quality care to pets
- Monitor hospitalized or surgical pets as allowed by state practice acts
- Client Communication
- Educate clients about pet health needs, hospital services, and preventative care
- Obtain relevant information and history from clients and maintain accurate medical charts
- Operational Support
- Ensure a safe and effective hospital environment
- Assist with surgery as applicable
Requirements
- Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year of related experience required, with customer service experience preferred
Working Conditions
- Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time
- Ability to be confident around pets
- Client needs and work volume may require more than 40 hours per week
