About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Care Specialist to join our team at Banfield Pet Hospital. As a key member of our hospital staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of care for our furry patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting Veterinary Care
    • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing quality care to pets
    • Monitor hospitalized or surgical pets as allowed by state practice acts
  • Client Communication
    • Educate clients about pet health needs, hospital services, and preventative care
    • Obtain relevant information and history from clients and maintain accurate medical charts
  • Operational Support
    • Ensure a safe and effective hospital environment
    • Assist with surgery as applicable

Requirements

  • Certificate of completion from a NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year of related experience required, with customer service experience preferred

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time
  • Ability to be confident around pets
  • Client needs and work volume may require more than 40 hours per week
