Job Summary:
The New York Foundling is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Caregiver to join our team in a residential program for individuals with developmental disabilities. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to our residents, enabling them to live fulfilling and independent lives.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of residents, implementing individualized plans of care and oversight.
- Advocate for residents in the community, facilitating access to medical appointments, recreational activities, and other essential services.
- Implement and document individualized goals, progress notes, and other relevant logs.
- Maintain updated certifications in CPR, first aid, SCIP, and AMAP.
- Provide a supportive and inclusive environment, promoting positive behavior and social skills.
- Assist with daily living skills, meal preparation, and cleaning and maintenance of the residential unit.
- Transport and escort residents on outings, appointments, and other activities.
- Participate in workshops, trainings, and meetings to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Valid driver's license with 6 points or less required.
- AMAP, SCIP, CPR, and First Aid certifications preferred.
