Full-Time ABA Behavioral Health Specialist

Position Summary:
As a Behavioral Health Specialist at Hummingbird ABA Therapy, you will engage in personalized behavioral interventions for children and adolescents aged 2 to 21 who have been diagnosed with a relevant condition. The primary objective is to enhance their independence, ultimately reducing the need for ongoing support. You will focus on skill transfer to both the child/adolescent and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct direct behavioral interventions.
- Implement Individualized Treatment Plans (ITP).
- Support parents, educators, and community members.
- Deliver and exemplify treatment strategies.
- Provide positive reinforcement to clients and their families.
- Enforce agreed-upon consequences for inappropriate behaviors.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share vital information for achieving client goals.
- Maintain professional boundaries with clients and families.
- Offer culturally sensitive and competent services.
- Complete initial training in accordance with company and state regulations.
Additional Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may evolve based on client needs, and reasonable accommodations will be provided for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands necessary for success in this role include regular standing, walking, sitting, handling, speaking, and seeing. Occasional reaching, kneeling, or lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
Work Environment:
This position typically involves working in nontraditional settings that may encompass various family dynamics.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel may be necessary up to 20% of the time, with clients located no more than one hour from the staff's residence unless otherwise agreed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Behavioral Health Specialists must meet one of the following qualifications:
- A high school diploma along with completion of a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List, evidenced by certification from a qualified trainer.
- A minimum of two years of experience in behavioral health services.
- Certification as a BCaBA, RBT, BCAT, IBT, or equivalent behavioral health service accreditation.
- Clearances from PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse, and FBI.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of relevant experience and/or training.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Preferred certifications include RBT, BCAT, or IBT.
Essential Skills:
- Effective reading and writing abilities.
- Basic problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using basic technology.
- Ability to adhere to schedules and meet deadlines.
- Maintaining confidentiality in all client-related matters.
- Establishing and nurturing effective working relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.
