Manufacturing Process Engineer II, Welding Specialist

Blue Origin is seeking a skilled Welding Engineer to join their team focused on developing safe and cost-effective space vehicles. This position involves working on welding processes for aerospace hardware, collaborating with engineers and technicians, and ensuring a culture of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and qualify welding schedules to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Review non-destructive testing (NDT) results and address any nonconformities to maintain product integrity.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop tooling and procedures that meet aerospace requirements.
- Operate equipment and perform mechanical and metallurgical tests to evaluate material properties.
- Manage projects and relationships with external organizations to ensure timely delivery and quality outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of metallurgy and arc physics to design and implement effective welding processes.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, or lawfully admitted into the U.S.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in materials or welding engineering to advance knowledge and skills.
- Experience with gas tungsten arc (GTA), plasma arc (PA), or vacuum plasma arc (VPPA) welding to expand process capabilities.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and interpretation of engineering drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Hands-on experience with machining and welding to develop practical skills.
