ROLE OVERVIEW

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is essential in refining our production methodologies, guaranteeing product excellence while enhancing operational efficiency and minimizing waste. This role demands a robust background in manufacturing, particularly in implementing Lean Manufacturing strategies, alongside the leadership acumen to guide a team of process engineers towards achieving our improvement objectives. While experience in automotive production is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process Enhancement: Identify and act on opportunities to refine manufacturing workflows, diminish waste, and elevate overall productivity to fulfill production goals. Assess both direct and indirect processes to boost quality and efficiency. Employ Lean Manufacturing techniques such as value stream mapping, 5S, and poka-yoke to facilitate enhancements.
  • Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of process engineers, offering direction and support to foster ongoing improvement.
  • Quality Management: Partner with Quality Assurance teams to establish quality control protocols, ensuring all products meet or surpass quality benchmarks.
  • Cost Analysis: Evaluate production expenses and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality or safety. Review labor hour data by activity and product configuration to propose enhancements in labor efficiency.
  • Risk Management: Conduct PFMEAs to pinpoint potential risks and initiate corrective measures.
  • Technology Adoption: Assess and integrate new manufacturing technologies and tools to boost productivity and product quality. Collaborate with finance, product development, and suppliers to analyze new equipment and make informed sourcing decisions.
  • Supplier Engagement: Collaborate closely with the Supply Chain team to ensure timely procurement of components and materials while upholding cost-effectiveness and quality standards.
  • Safety and Compliance: Uphold a safe working environment, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and compliance requirements in all manufacturing processes.
  • Data Monitoring: Utilize analytical tools to track and assess key performance indicators, identifying areas for enhancement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of ongoing improvement, encouraging team members to propose and implement innovative solutions. Collaborate with product development to standardize design criteria across product lines, ensuring new products are developed with manufacturing efficiency and quality in mind.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering within a production setting.
  • At least two years of experience in a managerial role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
  • Competitive base salary ranging from $149K to $164K, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Performance-based bonus of 10%.
