Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician II

Waiakea Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our bottling line at our manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems on equipment.
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting capabilities on control systems, servo drives, motors, HMIs, and PLCs on complex high-speed packaging lines.
  • Perform various equipment preventive maintenance tasks as necessary, but routinely in cases requiring advanced technical expertise.
  • Review documentation for maintenance activity using the maintenance database, adequately communicate maintenance issues to appropriate employees, and properly utilize the maintenance inventory system.
  • Repair and maintain items necessary to maintain equipment in optimum operating condition.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives in assigned areas by analyzing equipment maintenance history, identifying significant causes of waste, coordinating with appropriate employees to develop root cause analysis (RCA), and providing maintenance assistance as necessary.
  • Assist in day-to-day support of operators for adjustments, setups, and change overs.
  • Assist other maintenance technicians as required.
  • Work with engineers and vendors on special projects.
  • Use machine tools, welding equipment, and measuring devices to modify machinery as needed.
  • Will assist in the training and coaching others on best practices.
Requirements:
  • Must obtain lockout certification and be able to wear OSHA-approved safety gear.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, electronic controls, pneumatics, mechanical, and tooling.
  • Ability to attend and retain Internal and or External technical training.
  • Packaging operation and high-speed automation experience is preferred.
  • Ability to wear OSHA-approved personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Complies with all standard safety practices, safety rules, good manufacturing practices, and all other company rules and requirements.
  • Required to continuously stand, walk, reach with arms & hands.
  • Required to continuously use hands to handle product, materials, and machine.
  • Required to frequently twist, bend, stoop, lift, climb and balance.
  • Required to frequently lift and or move 10-20 pounds, lift and or move 20-30 pounds with reasonable accommodation, lift and or move 40-50 pounds with the aid of a co-worker and/or reasonable accommodations.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma/ GED required.
  • 5 years of mechanical or working with heavy machinery required.
  • 2 years of experience in an automated or semi-automated packing environment preferred.
  • Welding certification a plus.
  • Electrical certification or license a plus.
  • 1 year of maintenance experience required at Waiakea or equivalent education/training preferred.
