Job Title: Enterprise Information Security Analyst

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Information Security Analyst to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards to establish best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Create and maintain complex security and risk documentation, including policies, process diagrams, risk registers, and other relevant materials.
  • Research and analyze emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and trends to recommend mitigation strategies and enhancements to our security posture.
  • Stay up-to-date with external regulations, data security/privacy standards, and relevant laws applicable to healthcare and higher education.
  • Install, upgrade, maintain, and monitor information security-related systems.
  • Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
  • Monitor, investigate, and analyze security events and incidents using SIEM tools to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Prepare cybersecurity breach, incident, and alert reports.
  • Conduct cybersecurity audits, assessments, and support ongoing audit requirements to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and compliance, to maintain a high-security standard.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and industry standards.
  • Experience with security policy development, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
