SUMMARY:

This position is a full-time exempt role, dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of the ARNG Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP). The Doctrinal Training Team (DTT) Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) provide critical support to ARNG unit leaders and their staff, from battalion to division levels, through comprehensive doctrinal workshops, hands-on training, and coaching during both individual and collective training events at designated sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Exhibit proficiency in current Army Fires doctrine and synchronization processes, remaining updated with the latest Army and Joint Fires developments.
  • Act as a Fires trainer for Battalion to Division Operations Officers, Executive Officers, or Fire Support Officers, focusing on FIRES capabilities and responsibilities on the battlefield.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Military Communication Systems such as AFATDS, AMDWS, and CPOF.
  • Develop comprehensive Schemes of Fires and ANNEX D (FIRES), including the Field Artillery Support Plan (FASP), and ensure the completion of all necessary FIRES documentation.
  • Replicate the functions of higher headquarters within the Fires Warfighting Function (WFF) for training audiences from Battalion to Division levels.
  • Coach and facilitate the coordination of Fire Support, assisting in the planning and execution of realistic Large Scale Ground Combat Operations exercises.
  • Serve as an expert in military live, virtual, constructive, and gaming training methodologies, including simulations and other Mission Command Training enablers.
  • Provide advisory support, coaching, and training expertise for units at the division level and below, from planning through execution, including After Action Reviews (AAR) of MCTSP-driven collective events.
  • Deliver doctrinal training expertise to enhance live and constructive command and control information systems training.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct various training exercises, including FTXs, CPXs, STAFFEXs, and other supporting events.
  • Create and update doctrinally sound training materials, including higher command operations orders and reports, and lead requested academic workshops.
  • Offer candid and constructive feedback to unit Commanders and staff through informal discussions.
  • Contribute to the Final Exercise Report (FER) detailing the planning, preparation, and execution of DTT training events.
  • Conduct thorough research on evolving doctrine, theater-specific operations, and newly developed tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to inform the development of training scenarios.
  • Synchronize the capabilities of MTC training assets leading up to and during collective events.
  • Handle sensitive government data responsibly and participate in relevant government meetings and conferences.
  • Analyze training progress and develop necessary recovery plans or alternatives as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while safeguarding company and government resources.
  • Coordinate safety information directly with government leadership.
  • Adhere to government and contract guidelines, regulations, and standards.
  • Report directly to the DTT Lead.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous senior Army or ARNG leadership experience with a background in training management, preferably with Combat Training Center (CTC) experience.
  • Primary staff experience in the respective WFF at Battalion level or higher.
  • Preferred experience as a Battalion commander or equivalent.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of combined staff experience within the WFF or eight (8) years of specialized MCTSP experience.
  • Recent experience within the Army National Guard training support system or a similar framework.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience working with Army Command and Control Information Systems in the WFF area.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred. Completion of the Command and General Staff College or equivalent military schooling is also preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and meet other eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
