SUMMARY:

This role is a full-time exempt position dedicated to supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG) Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP). The Doctrinal Training Team (DTT) Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) provide essential support to ARNG unit leaders and their staff, ranging from battalion to division levels. They conduct doctrinal workshops, offer hands-on training, and coach during both individual and collective training events at designated training locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in current Army maneuver doctrine, including Infantry, Armor, Engineer, and Aviation, while identifying emerging joint movement and maneuver doctrines.
  • Serve as the primary trainer for critical processes such as operations process, Army design methodology, information collection, and the development of decision support products.
  • Provide over-the-shoulder training support for Command Post of the Future (CPOF) and Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE).
  • Develop Concept of Operations and Scheme of Maneuver documentation, including OPORD Paragraph 2, Commander's Intent, and tasks for subordinate units.
  • Replicate higher headquarters functions within the Multi-Domain Maneuver Warfighting Function (M2 WFF) for training audiences from Battalion to Division.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in military Live, Virtual, Constructive, and Gaming (LVC-G) training methodologies.
  • Advise and train division and lower units throughout the planning and execution phases, including After Action Reviews (AAR) of MCTSP-driven collective events.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute various training exercises, including Field Training Exercises (FTXs), Command Post Exercises (CPXs), and Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) workshops.
  • Create and update doctrinally sound training materials, including operations orders, reports, and briefings.
  • Deliver constructive feedback to unit commanders and staff through informal discussions.
  • Contribute to the Final Exercise Report (FER) detailing the planning, preparation, and execution of DTT events.
  • Recommend LVC-G training strategies to meet evolving training needs.
  • Assist in designing scenario-based exercises aligned with unit commanders' training objectives.
  • Conduct thorough research on evolving military doctrine and tactics to inform training scenarios.
  • Facilitate synchronization of MCTSP training capabilities leading up to and during collective training events.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Safeguard and maintain company and government-furnished equipment and materials.
  • Coordinate safety information with government leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior senior Army or ARNG leadership experience with a background in training management, preferably with Combat Training Center (CTC) experience.
  • Experience in the Warfighting Function (WFF) at the Battalion level or higher.
  • Preferred experience as a Battalion commander or in a similar role.
  • A minimum of six years of combined staff experience within the WFF or eight years of specialized MCTSP experience.
  • Recent experience within the Army National Guard training support system or a comparable system.
  • Two or more years of experience working with Army Command and Control Information Systems within the WFF area.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred. Completion of the Command and General Staff College or equivalent military education is also preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
