Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our food service team as a Food Service Assistant. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our cafeteria and catering services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff, ensuring a positive dining experience.
  • Cashiering: Operate a cash register and handle customer transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Food Preparation: Assist with food preparation, including cooking, serving, and maintaining a clean and safe food environment.
  • Deliveries: Assist with food deliveries to various locations on campus.
  • Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Basic Customer Service Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Cash Handling: Have basic cash handling skills and the ability to accurately process transactions.
  • Food Service Experience: Previous experience in food service or a related field is an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, 30 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
  • Visual Acuity: Close visual acuity required for tasks such as food preparation and cash handling.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with moderate noise levels.
