Position Overview: Registered Nurse II Riverview Primary Care - Full-Time, 8am-5pm
  • Independently develop and deliver professional nursing care for patients in alignment with physician directives and established protocols.
  • Provide nursing services to patients and their families, adhering to the scope of practice defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, implement, supervise, and document nursing care utilizing the nursing process in accordance with physician orders and established policies.
  • Utilize professional judgment to tailor care plans based on patient assessments and responses.
  • Delegate tasks and oversee the activities of licensed and unlicensed care providers.
  • Support other nursing staff in delivering care and serve as a team leader or charge nurse as assigned.
  • Monitor and take corrective actions to ensure a safe care environment, including managing equipment and resources.
  • Engage in professional development by maintaining competencies, identifying learning needs, and pursuing educational opportunities.
  • Act as a mentor to support the growth of other staff and learners.
  • Contribute to identifying clinical or operational performance improvement opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of the roles of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nursing care assistants.
  • Ability to assess the nursing needs of patients with acute and chronic conditions.
  • Capability to independently seek resources and collaborate effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to educate patients and families in line with nursing care plans.
  • Proficient in using sensory and cognitive skills to prioritize information and treatment.
  • Competent in basic life support and other specialized life support as required.
  • Ability to document patient care accurately using electronic and paper systems.
  • Ability to navigate the healthcare environment to provide optimal patient care.
  • Capacity to endure prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Ability to maintain focus and organization in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with infection control procedures and safety protocols.
Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program is required. Registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing must enroll in a BSN program within two years of hire and complete it within five years.

Experience:
A minimum of twelve months of relevant clinical experience is required. Exceptional performers with six months of experience may be considered at the manager's discretion.

Licensure:
Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina is required. BLS certification is mandatory.
