Senior Roadway and Bridge Transportation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Roadway and Bridge Transportation Engineer to join our team at CDM Smith. This role will involve leading and supervising construction inspection activities at various transportation infrastructure construction projects, including roadway, bridge, drainage, erosion & control, and maintenance and traffic field site locations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and engineering, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. They will be responsible for maintaining relationships with clients and contractors, estimating manpower needs, scheduling, and assigning work to meet completion date deadlines set by clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise construction inspection activities at various transportation infrastructure construction projects
  • Maintain relationships with clients and contractors
  • Estimate manpower needs, schedule, and assign work to meet completion date deadlines
  • Supervise the work of field inspection staff
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct large and important construction projects
  • Participate in new business development and maintain existing client relationships
  • Act as a mentor for junior level employees
  • Assist in developing and implementing new strategies to enhance our CEI capabilities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline
  • Professional engineering (PE) license
  • 12 years of related experience
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required
