Job Title: Senior CEI Inspector

Highspeed Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Senior CEI Inspector to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Senior CEI Inspector to oversee Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) projects with the Tennessee Department of Transportation and local municipalities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ITS work and be able to supervise junior inspectors in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct construction inspections on bridge, highway, and railroad projects to ensure compliance with clients' adapted procedures and policies.
  • Provide and oversee inspection services for conformance to plans and specifications for all roadway, structures, and specialty items.
  • Observe, measure, and record all construction quantities for contractor payment.
  • Record and review field measurements in project records for review by the client or auditors.
    • Review traffic control daily.
    • Document and distribute weekly project traffic control on required forms.
    • Inspect daily erosion control items for compliance and effectiveness in the field.
    • Prepare to justify all pay quantity questions by the contractor or client.
    • Prepare and sign an accurate daily diary consisting of contractor information, project history, events, equipment, orders, times, etc.
    • Supervise field staff and provide resolutions for questions.
    • Train new Inspectors to company standards.
    • Additional related duties as needed.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of CEI inspection experience.
  • ITS experience required.
  • Valid drivers license required.
  • Transportation (bridge, roadway, rail) construction inspection experience.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Training, Radiation Safety/Nuclear Gauge/Hazmat Training, TDOT or ACI Concrete Field Testing, TDOT Aggregate, and TDOT Hot Mix Asphalt Roadway Certifications.
  • Experience with Site Manager Software and Roadway Plans preferred.
  • Willingness to work overtime, limited nighttime construction, and overnight travel as needed.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Electrical experience a plus.
