Job Summary

The Shift Supervisor is accountable to the Operations Manager and plays a pivotal role in the operational framework. Key responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to, the following:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for clients regarding security-related inquiries or requests.
  • Serve as the immediate authority following the shift supervisor.
  • Oversee scheduling, including managing requests and approved time off.
  • Handle payroll matters, including addressing discrepancies.
  • Manage invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy before submission to clients.
  • Monitor attendance, disciplinary actions, vacation/time-off requests, and compliance documentation.
  • Review and audit end-of-shift reports and daily activity logs.
  • Facilitate document scanning into the shared drive.
  • Process terminations and related paperwork.
  • Coordinate requisitions, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding processes.
  • Manage uniform and equipment requests.
  • Provide job training to new personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (BSIS, CA, healthcare, etc.).
  • Engage with department heads as necessary.
  • Participate in monthly EOC meetings and quarterly business evaluations.
  • Conduct investigations, including gathering written statements.
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork for workers' compensation is completed.
  • Maintain up-to-date Post Orders.
  • Communicate regularly with all supervisory staff.

Requirements

  • Proficient in technology, particularly with the MS Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with technology-driven scheduling platforms is advantageous.
  • Experience in project management is preferred.
  • Skilled in leading teams through complex problem-solving scenarios.
  • Strong customer service orientation is essential.
  • Able to interact effectively within a corporate environment and communicate with all management levels.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Exemplary time-management, organizational, and multitasking abilities are required.
  • A reliable team player with maturity, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.

Qualifications

  • Preferred candidates possess either an honorable military discharge, a Bachelor's degree, or five years of experience in operations and project management.
  • Ability to independently create reports, spreadsheets, diagrams, charts, and other necessary documentation (e.g., MS Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint).
  • Understanding of security operations and contract management is preferred.
  • Familiarity with operational KPIs and the ability to leverage data for operational improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong appreciation for teamwork.
  • Experience in a supervisory role within a general office environment is preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and occasionally stressful environment.
