About the Role

We are looking for an exceptional Electrical Engineer to join our Power Electronics team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative power conversion solutions for our electric vehicles and energy products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and industrialize high-performance power conversion systems for Tesla's electric vehicles and energy products.
  • Owning the development process from specification to production, ensuring quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, validate, and manufacture power converters for Tesla products.
  • Develop novel power electronics topologies that deliver superior performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • At least 4 years of relevant hands-on experience in power converter design and industrialization.
  • Strong understanding of power converter topologies, both theoretical and practical design knowledge.
  • Experience with high voltage power semiconductor selection (IGBTs, Si/SiC/GaN MOSFETs, and Diodes), gate drive, and analog/digital sensing circuits.
  • Familiarity with magnetics (inductors, transformers) and capacitors (film, ceramic, and electrolytic) for high voltage and high frequency power conversion.
  • Good understanding of switching waveforms, semi-conductor loss mechanisms, and experience with loss modeling.
  • Proficiency with schematic capture, power converter circuit simulation tools, and basic EE tools (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators, etc.).
  • Experience in PCB layout for minimal stray inductance/capacitance, component placement strategies for better manufacturability, power/signal plane definition, and EMC optimization.
  • Knowledge of environmental, reliability, and safety requirements for Automotive, Industrial & Residential applications.
  • Awareness of UL and CE electrical safety requirements and EMC requirements relevant to the design of power converters.
