VCA Animal Hospitals is in search of a skilled Relief Client Relations Specialist with a background in veterinary care to enhance our team.

The ideal candidate will embody a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and quality patient care.

In this role, you will assist our veterinarians and clients by fostering a welcoming and stress-free environment for both clients and their pets.

We prioritize transparent and straightforward communication among team members, management, and clients. Our focus is on community engagement, honoring the client-pet bond, and showing respect for all individuals and animals. We seek enthusiastic individuals with outstanding client service abilities and a positive attitude.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customer service tasks, including welcoming clients, managing phone inquiries, and escorting clients and their pets to examination areas.
  • Coordinating and confirming appointments.
  • Conducting follow-up calls and reaching out to potential clients.
  • Explaining fees and processing payments.
  • Advising clients on product selections and services, including prescriptions.
  • Providing information on products and services, educating clients on general pet care and welfare.
  • Maintaining electronic medical records, documentation, and correspondence.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in a veterinary hospital environment.
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Empathy for animals and their owners, with an understanding of diverse reactions.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities to determine the best course of action.
  • Ability to incorporate new information into problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capability to lift up to 40 lbs and be aware of potential hazards associated with animals.

COMPENSATION: Negotiable based on qualifications, experience, and other relevant credentials. The hourly pay range for this position is between $16 and $20.
