The Mid-Columbia Center for Living (MCCFL) is a recognized Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) dedicated to delivering trauma-informed and recovery-focused services to individuals dealing with mental health challenges and substance use disorders. Our approach emphasizes safety, choice, collaboration, trust, and empowerment for both clients and staff. MCCFL serves multiple counties and employs a consumer-driven model to provide comprehensive care addressing both physical and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
The Family Peer Partner plays a vital role in offering peer support to families navigating mental health challenges. This position facilitates connections with service providers and addresses transportation and other barriers that may hinder access to necessary treatment and support. The Family Peer Partner utilizes personal experience, training, and community resource knowledge to assist families throughout the Wraparound Process.

Core Duties Include:

  • Regularly engage with families; teach independent living skills and model positive behaviors; document interactions with families.
  • Advocate for families and promote self-advocacy; maintain community networks.
  • Communicate effectively with the treatment team regarding any concerns; participate in ongoing support networks.
  • Provide coverage for other Peer Support Coordinators as necessary.
  • Adhere to safety protocols.

Position Requirements:

  • Completion of Oregon Wraparound Foundations Training is mandatory.
  • Must obtain Oregon CANS certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Applicants must be eligible for Oregon Health Authority certification as a Peer Delivered Service Provider.
  • Experience as a parental figure or personal experience with mental health, substance use, or related fields is essential.
  • A valid Oregon or Washington Driver's License is required, along with a clean driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of mental health symptoms and challenges, assessment processes, and community-based services is crucial. Strong interpersonal skills, a solid work ethic, and proficiency in clinical software and standard office applications are necessary. The ability to apply trauma-informed practices, advocate for clients, and maintain professional boundaries is essential.

Work Environment:
This role involves providing services in various community settings, including clinics, schools, and public spaces. Employees must be prepared for diverse work environments and the potential for increased sensory experiences.
