Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Critical Care Float Pool Nurse, you will:

  • Provide direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act.
  • Utilize effective communication skills in daily interactions.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
  • Identify and address nursing issues based on individual patient needs.
  • Develop personalized care plans using a collaborative approach.
  • Engage in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Float among all adult ICUs within the facility.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN licensure in the state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required within six months for specific units.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within six months for certain areas.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required within six months for emergency department nurses.
