Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of developments, capital improvement, and construction projects to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Review and approve completed work to ensure it meets the required standards.
  • Respond to citizen complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, complaints, and other relevant information.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the Public Works department.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of construction experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Level 1 Erosion Control Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of inspection principles and methods.
  • Knowledge of construction principles and methods.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with citizens, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Working Conditions

The work is medium work, requiring exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The job requires standing, walking, and climbing, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
