Senior Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architect to join our team at Montgomery County Government. As a Senior Architect, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing capital improvement construction projects, including maintenance, repairs, and renovations of County capital infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Manage design consultants and review and quality control of plans and specifications.
- Oversee and monitor work performed by contractors to ensure contract plans, scope, and specifications are being followed.
- Prepare, maintain, and update project files and records to document significant activities.
- Serve as a liaison to other County departments, regulatory agencies, and contractors related to projects.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets, receive purchase orders, and approve project invoices to process payments.
- Conduct design reviews and site plan reviews.
- Perform quality control field inspections and approve inspector daily reports.
- Coordinate or schedule the work of survey crews as needed.
- Seven (7) years of experience in Architecture under a licensed professional is preferred, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture.
- License in Architecture through NCARB – Level III.
This position requires occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force, regular sitting, frequent standing, speaking, or hearing, and repetitive motions. Work may involve mobility over rough or difficult terrain, and specific vision abilities are required.
