Job Title: Student Success Student Assistant I

Palo Alto University (PAU) is a private, non-profit institution dedicated to promoting mental health and well-being in its diverse community of students. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student Success Student Assistant I to support the development and implementation of Student Success initiatives across the University.

Job Summary

The Student Success Student Assistant I will assist professional staff in creating, maintaining, and organizing logistics that support all student-related efforts. This role will support the efficient and effective functioning of the department to help meet PAU's strategic plan and serve our highly diverse student population, both virtually and in person across all campuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with promoting Student Success resources and initiatives
  • Support the Interim Assistant Dean of Student Support with brainstorming and implementing new projects
  • Maintain updated documentation of tasks for current and future academic years
  • Support in the planning and execution of Student Success-related events
  • Manage all aspects of the Student Newsletter Digest (SND), including responding to submission requests and updating monthly newsletter content
  • Responsible for providing prompt and professional emails via
  • Maintain Student Success-related social media accounts, including creating/sharing weekly posts
  • Facilitate weekly drop-in sessions for all PAU students across academic programs
  • Direct student questions to the appropriate resources, not restricted to Student Success
  • Work alongside SS tutors to connect students to additional peer support options
  • Serve as a student employee representative within Student Success
Requirements
  • Active student leader or interest in becoming more involved with PAU student population
  • Self-motivated to manage daily operations and completion of longer-term departmental projects
  • Superior writing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Intermediate-Advanced skills in Google Drive, Mailchimp, Canva, Instagram, and willing to learn other systems as necessary
  • Demonstrates integrity, honesty, and ethical behavior when handling sensitive information
  • Illustrates compassion and respect for diversity with a cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Exemplifies a high level of professionalism with other students, staff, faculty, and visitors
  • Interest in developing personal and professional skills beyond the classroom
