Restaurant Operations Manager Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Restaurant Operations Manager to join our team at Specialty Restaurants Corporation, Inc. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our restaurant, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the dining room area and supervise front-of-house service staff to ensure seamless customer experiences.
  • Manage and perform all work activities required to maintain efficient and effective restaurant operations, including forecasting, monitoring, and controlling food usage and cost.
  • Monitor compliance with safety and sanitation standards, code of conduct, and work rules, and work with management and human resources to implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Interface with guests to diffuse and resolve complaints, and involve management when incidents escalate or become unsafe.
  • Promote effective strategies and employee engagement approaches to instill team support of organizational values, priorities, and objectives.
  • Assist management with reviewing financial transactions and monitoring the budget to ensure expenditures stay within budget limitations.

Requirements:

  • 4-year college degree in hospitality or retail management, culinary arts, or a closely related field (preferred)
  • Current food safety certification, such as ServSafe and SafeStaff
  • Current alcohol awareness certification, such as TIPS or LEADS
  • 4 years of experience supervising employees in BOH or FOH operations

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent lifting, moving, and carrying of food trays, kitchen ware, furniture, garbage, etc. weighing up to 25 pounds across the restaurant
  • Regular and prolonged standing and walking inside and outside the restaurant to service tables, deliver food and beverages, perform BOH functions, clean, sanitize, and set up workstations, etc.
  • Regular ascending/descending stairs across the restaurant to deliver food, pick up dirty dishware, etc.
