The California Highway Patrol is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs of buildings and structures, as well as surrounding grounds.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs of buildings and structures, including but not limited to:
- Transporting state vehicles
- Keeping facilities clear of hazardous conditions
- Touching up painting as needed
- Sweeping and cleaning sidewalks and parking areas
- Replacing inoperative light bulbs
- Sanitizing restrooms and locker rooms
- Cleaning and disinfecting kitchen surfaces and counters
- Maintaining and ordering janitorial stock and supplies
- Overseeing contractors and vendors while on-site
- Moving furniture and equipment as needed
- Storing boxes of supplies and organizing storage of equipment and resources
- Assisting with fleet maintenance, cleaning, and repair
- Delivering motor vehicles to service stations and area offices as necessary
- Assisting in janitorial duties and performing full custodial duties in the absence of a custodian
The facility is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The position involves heavy lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds. Exposed to varying temperatures and loud noises. The working hours for this position are Monday through Friday, from 0600 to 1430 hours.
Special Requirements- A valid California Driver's License (CDL) is required.
- A Background Investigation must be cleared prior to being hired.
- Medical Clearance must be obtained prior to being hired.
