Job Title: Line Cook

At Fat Calf Brasserie, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook to join our culinary team. As a Line Cook, you will play a vital role in producing high-quality menu items in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, including meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables, using a range of cooking techniques and equipment.
  • Set up and stock stations with necessary food items, supplies, and utensils.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area, including tables, shelves, broilers, sauté burners, ovens, flat top, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Assure each item is cooked to the Chef and guests' expectations and specifications.
  • Garnish each dish properly and present it in a visually appealing manner.
  • Answer, report, and follow Executive, Chef de Cuisine, and/or Sous Chefs' instructions.
  • Stock inventory appropriately, following storing, labeling, dating, and FIFO rotation methods established by Executive & Sous Chefs.
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.
  • Assume responsibility for quality, food safety/sanitation, and timeliness of products served.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the management staff.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Culinary Certification preferred.
  • Food Handlers Safety Certification required.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Passion for food and specifically farm-to-table cuisine.
  • Working knowledge of professional kitchen processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a professional manner.
  • Basic understanding of the restaurant business.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Possess the ability to multi-task and manage stressful circumstances associated with a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to follow instruction and complete assigned tasks with accuracy, speed, and in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
  • Familiar with Industry's Best Practices.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
  • Ability to lift 30+ lbs, stand, bend, or squat for extended periods of time (8+ hours).
