The Texas Department of Public Safety is seeking a highly skilled Staff Psychologist II to join our team. As a key member of our Victim and Employee Support Services, you will play a critical role in providing psychological services to agency employees and their families.
Key Responsibilities:- Administer and interpret psychological tests and conduct assessments of recruit school applicants, police communications operator applicants, and promotional candidates.
- Plan, develop, and implement training programs on topics such as stress management, work performance enhancement, and crisis intervention.
- Provide professional and confidential short-term treatment in a voluntary counseling program for agency employees and their families.
- Consult with agency management and individual workgroups on solutions to ongoing or anticipated problems.
- Conduct program design and develop procedures for pre-employment testing, wellness, and behavioral health services for employees.
- Participate in field visits and observe training for law enforcement officers.
- Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of one year of full-time work experience in providing direct psychological services.
- Licensure by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists as a Psychologist.
- Valid driver's license from the state of residence.
The physical and environmental demands of this position include working in an office environment, outdoors, and in a vehicle. The ability to stand, walk, sit, and transfer weights of up to 10 pounds is required.
This position requires moderate frequency of driving and may require flexibility in work hours. The position may be required to work additional hours or at times outside traditional office hours.
