Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Psychologist II to join our Victim and Employee Support Services team at the Texas Department of Public Safety. As a key member of our team, you will provide advanced psychological services to agency employees and their families, including psychological testing, screening, and counseling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and interpret psychological tests and conduct assessments of recruit school applicants, police communications operator applicants, and promotional candidates.
  • Plan, develop, and implement training on various topics, such as stress management, work performance enhancement, and crisis intervention.
  • Provide professional and confidential short-term treatment in a voluntary counseling program for agency employees and their families.
  • Facilitate debriefings after critical incidents and act as a consultant on special projects requiring psychological expertise.
  • Consult with agency management and individual workgroups regarding solutions to ongoing or anticipated problems.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of one year of full-time work experience in providing direct psychological services, including clinical crisis intervention and/or trauma counseling.
  • Successful completion of an internship in clinical or counseling psychology or supervised experience.
  • Licensure by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists as a Psychologist.
