Job Summary

The Medical Imaging Technologist provides essential healthcare services by utilizing x-ray technology to assist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Responsibilities include performing radiographic procedures and related techniques to produce images for interpretation by licensed practitioners. The technologist exercises professional judgment and maintains a demeanor that aligns with medical ethics while ensuring appropriate patient care and recognizing conditions necessary for successful procedures.

Utilizing knowledge of growth and development principles, the technologist identifies patient and family needs based on age-specific requirements and participates in delivering patient-centered care as directed, adhering to service excellence standards to achieve high patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct all diagnostic and screening imaging procedures, including emergency, surgical, fluoroscopic, and portable imaging.
  • Assist physicians and radiologists in procedures requiring sterile techniques.
  • Prepare and administer radiopaque contrast media for radiologic examinations.
  • Assess patient conditions prior to and during all imaging procedures.
  • Perform additional departmental duties as required.
Qualifications

Education:

Graduate of an accredited radiology program recognized by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or an equivalent military training program. An Associate's Degree or higher in Radiologic Technology is required.

Experience:

Preferred: One year of experience as a Medical Imaging Technologist.

Licenses and Certifications:

Must possess a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) license from the Texas Medical Board and be a registered technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography. Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
