About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Quality Inspector 4 to join our team at MKS Instruments. As a key member of our inspection department, you will be responsible for leading the QA inspection team, developing inspection approaches and methods, and ensuring the quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and document best practice methods for inspection of parts, conduct inspections to mechanical drawings, create quality control plans, and document results.
  • Coordinate and participate in the activities of the QA inspection team, specifically the mechanical inspection of machined components, weldments, heaters, and assemblies for the semiconductor and vacuum industry.
  • Plan inspection activities and prepare documentation to support first article inspections.
  • Audit internal processes and product manufacturing for conformance to requirements.
  • Work closely with engineering and production, provide technical feedback on manufactured products and drawings, and generate Engineering Change Requests to correct drawing issues noted during inspection.
  • Train others in inspection techniques, develop team members' skill levels, and identify opportunities for improvement and work standardization.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of mechanical inspection experience with a strong understanding of machined and welded components.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings/GD&T and using a wide range of mechanical inspection tools and methods to perform open set-up surface plate inspections.
  • Experience using CMM (Hexagon and Keyence preferred).
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and sharing data.
