About the Role:
As a Diesel Mechanic - Fleet Maintenance Specialist at Holcim (US), you will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance of our ready mix fleet. This includes performing inspections, preventative and corrective repairs on fleet vehicles and mobile equipment. You will also be responsible for preparing daily and weekly operating, safety, and maintenance reports as required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures
• Perform engine diagnostics, hydraulic system repairs, and chassis/body repairs
• Cut, grind, weld, and fabricate equipment as needed
• Work with hoisting and jacking equipment, power tools, measuring instruments, gauges/meters, and advanced diagnostic equipment
• Assist with supporting equipment breakdowns and perform field repairs as necessary
• Demonstrate a commitment to a zero-injury safety culture
Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 2+ years of experience in a related field, preferably with hydraulic and electrical systems in a ready mix truck or refuse truck application
• Welding and fabrication skills desired
• Knowledge of OEM software platforms, such as Cummins Insite/Quickserve, Cat ET, Paccar Davie4/ESA, Daimler DDEC/DTNA, and Bendix Acom
• Class B CDL preferred
• ASE T1-T8 certification and OEM/Mfg. designated training preferred
• OSHA 10 certification required
