About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assembly Mechanic III to join our team at Safran. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for producing prototypes and complex components, serving as a Subject Matter Expert, and training other assembly mechanics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, and planning to develop and execute part prototype design and test plans.
  • Setup and maintain test fixtures in alignment with test plan requirements.
  • Execute test plans and troubleshoot setup to achieve successful execution.
  • Responsible for the production of prototype and first article for the business's most complex components.
  • Mastery of all shop equipment, including drill motors, pneumatic tools, band saws, drill presses, and various tool grinders.
  • Ability to use precision metrology instruments, including micrometers, dial indicators, and optical comparators.
  • Establish work center standard operating procedures.
  • Support make/buy decisions in partnership with operations manager and production planning.
  • Lead continuous improvement activity in the area to reduce scrap rate and increase operational efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Shall possess, at a minimum, a High School diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience in consuming electrical and structural aerospace part drawings.
  • 5+ years of interpreting, authoring, and executing assembly and component test requirements.
  • High level of mechanical and electrical aptitude and knowledge of aerospace or other equivalent industry.
