Job Title: Assembly Mechanic III

At Safran, we are seeking an experienced Assembly Mechanic III to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for producing prototypes and complex components, serving as a Subject Matter Expert, and establishing manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute part prototype design and test plans in partnership with engineering, ME, and planning teams.
  • Setup and maintain test fixtures in alignment with test plan requirements.
  • Execute test plans and troubleshoot setup to achieve successful execution.
  • Produce prototype and first-article components for the organization's most complex components.
  • Mastery of shop equipment, including drill motors, pneumatic tools, band saws, drill presses, and various tool grinders.
  • Ability to use precision metrology instruments, including micrometers, dial indicators, and optical comparators.
  • Establish work center standard operating procedures.
  • Support make/buy decisions in partnership with operations manager and production planning.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities to reduce scrap rate and increase operational efficiency.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience in consuming electrical and structural aerospace part drawings.
  • 5+ years of interpreting, authoring, and executing assembly and component test requirements.
  • High level of mechanical and electrical aptitude and knowledge of aerospace or equivalent industry.
  • Ability to communicate well with others, troubleshoot, and prioritize tasks effectively.
