We are currently in search of qualified candidates for the position of Associate General Counsel at our corporate headquarters. Responsibilities encompass overseeing all litigation, claims, internal investigations, regulatory compliance, and global risk management and insurance. Key Responsibilities:

1. Management of Global Claims and Litigation:

  • Product Liability: Defend against various litigation and claims, including personal injury and property damage, while managing inquiries from state attorneys general and major retailers.
  • Employment Matters: Oversee defense strategies for employment-related litigation and governmental investigations.
  • Intellectual Property: Handle disputes related to intellectual property, including patent infringement and trade secret issues.
  • Environmental Issues: Manage litigation concerning environmental impacts from past operations.
  • Workers' Compensation: Support the investigation and defense of claims related to workers' compensation.
  • Corporate and Commercial Litigation: Oversee corporate litigation arising from various business relationships and risks.

2. Regulatory Compliance Oversight:

  • Consumer Product Safety: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and manage agency investigations and corrective actions.
  • FDA Regulations: Respond to compliance issues and oversee medical device approvals.
  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and manage remediation efforts.
  • Employment Law Compliance: Address discrimination charges and oversee related investigations.
  • Additional Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with various laws affecting the business.

3. Preventative Legal Counseling:

  • Guide negotiations to achieve favorable settlements.
  • Advise on product warranties and communications.
  • Provide counsel on crisis management strategies.

4. Risk Management and Insurance Programs:

  • Oversee global risk management and insurance programs, including various liability coverages.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited institution with a strong academic background.
  • Licensure: Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years in litigation, regulatory, and risk management roles.
