Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Job Summary

The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations related to the licensing, registration, and approval of beverage alcohol products imported and/or distributed by Winebow. This includes maintaining compliance status, submitting pricing adjustments, and preparing copy for publication in the official monthly Beverage Journal.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Product registration for federal TTB requirements
  2. Maintain compliance status; submit pricing adjustments when appropriate
  3. Submit to the states' Alcohol Beverage Control agencies: brand registrations, brand renewals, and brand changes as necessary
  4. Prepare copy for publication in the official monthly Beverage Journal to comply with state regulations
  5. Respond to compliance questions from suppliers and internal staff
  6. Establish and maintain good working relationships with the state regulatory offices, the company's domestic and foreign suppliers, portfolio staff, sales staff, and direct team members
  7. Determine which labels should be submitted for registration, request check fees, and submit the required materials to the states
  8. Assist in coordinating brand transfers and inventory buyback
  9. Maintain master files of brand registrations
  10. Assist management with special projects as may arise
  11. Meet agreed-upon goals and objectives effectively and in a timely manner
  12. Arrive to work, appointments, meetings, and other work-related functions on time and as scheduled
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Maintain files, check brand names, availability, and brand ownership
  2. Conduct Internet and Legal Research as necessary
  3. Provide support to Senior Vice President/General Counsel as required
  4. Follow all safety policies and procedures; communicate hazards and/or suggest improvements to manager
  5. Perform other duties as assigned
Working Conditions

Overtime work may be required. The position is based in the company headquarters in Glen Allen, VA.

Physical Requirements

Lifting up to 40 lbs., bending, sitting, standing, manual dexterity, reaching, visual acuity

Minimum Requirements
  1. College Degree Preferred; or a combination of College/Work Experience
  2. Minimum three years' experience in a regulated environment or 1-year experience with a regulatory compliance company
  3. Alcohol beverage industry compliance experience a plus
  4. Paralegal experience a plus
  5. Proficiency in MS Office. Photoshop experience preferred
  6. Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills
  7. Strong attention to detail
