About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Business Analyst to join our Investment Data Strategy & Solutions team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for technical business analysis on the components of strategic projects associated with the investment community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interviewing and running workshops with Fund Managers, Analysts, and Traders to identify and analyze data attributes within JHI systems and document the impact proposed by change through projects or initiatives.
  • Creating functional requirements documents and Jira tickets detailing current state and proposed changes and articulating these to impacted teams.
  • Liaising with technology teams to communicate development changes required for delivery and overseeing testing and sign-off with business users.
  • Working with centralized data management teams to ensure efforts in the investment management community work in synergy with those teams.
  • Creating repeatable testing frameworks to ensure requirements built to your specification meet necessary standards.
  • Facilitating requirements gathering meetings and leveraging emerging technology and techniques to achieve work goals in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with stakeholders and ensuring regular communications with the business, technology, and data teams.
  • Collaborating with technical architects to ensure all change is clearly documented by updating conceptual and logical models and ensuring data catalogues, definitions, and lineage are aligned.

Requirements
  • Financial knowledge, with at least one of: Asset Management, Equity, Fixed Income, OTC and Exchange Traded Derivatives, Fund Management, Security Analytics, Client Reporting, Wealth Management, Performance Measurement, Risk Measurement, Banking, or Regulatory Reporting
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Experience working on large-scale projects in a Technical Business Analyst or Data Analyst role
  • Experience writing and implementing business requirements, process maps, and user stories
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and SQL skills
  • Experience with process mapping software applications: Visio, Lucid Charts, etc.
  • Analytical, structured, and logical in approach
  • Attention to detail and a delivery-focused mindset
  • Organized and collaborative
Nice to Have
  • Strong Python knowledge
  • CFA candidate preferred
  • 5+ years' experience working within a data team or dealing with processing large amounts of data
  • Previous finance experience in middle and back-office processes
  • Experience in Agile methodologies, including use of Jira
  • Systems: Charles River Development, S&P EDM (formerly CADIS), EAGLE
