The Facilities Mechanic plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of facilities within a GMP manufacturing environment focused on Phase I/II bulk biologics.

Work Schedule: Thursday-Saturday and every other Wednesday from 6am to 6pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain essential utility systems, including HVAC, clean steam generators, chillers, USP-water/DI water skids, plant steam boilers, and air compressors.
  • Collaborate with management to draft operational protocols and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Diligently complete and maintain all equipment logbooks and maintenance documentation.
  • Regularly troubleshoot and repair laboratory and manufacturing equipment, such as fermenters, pumps, filtration systems, and freezers.
  • Engage in facility expansion and validation activities.
  • Suggest parts and supply purchases for equipment used in manufacturing and laboratory settings.
  • Work closely with manufacturing and laboratory personnel to resolve equipment issues.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in maintenance within hospital, food, chemical, or biologics manufacturing environments.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in a biopharmaceutical manufacturing or R&D facility, supporting GMP production.
  • Must obtain a Grade 3 Stationary Engineer's License within the first year of employment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
  • Experience working in an FDA-regulated cleanroom environment requiring full gowning procedures.
