Position Overview:

This position is accountable for overseeing the maintenance operations, including the upkeep of facilities and equipment, to guarantee a safe and secure environment. The role involves planning, organizing, supervising, and coordinating maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations related to facility and equipment maintenance, including material handling equipment (MHE), buildings, grounds, and utility systems.
  • Engage in the process of soliciting and evaluating bids while managing external contractors for maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs for MHE and refrigeration systems, maintaining accurate records in the designated software.
  • Collaborate with warehouse operations and engineering teams on expansion or construction projects, ensuring effective communication.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and secure work environment, addressing any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with management and vendors to prioritize maintenance projects.
  • Manage the maintenance operations budget, focusing on cost control and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and continuous improvement in maintenance processes.
  • Update policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in labor relations negotiations and manage union-related matters as necessary.
  • Oversee staffing, training, and performance management of maintenance associates.
  • Stay informed about legal regulations and industry best practices to recommend process improvements.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Engineering or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in facility maintenance.
  • Availability for a flexible schedule, including on-call duties during evenings and weekends.
  • Two years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial equipment operation, building maintenance, and environmental regulations.
  • Experience with OSHA and EPA compliance.
  • Completion of RETA certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in HVAC and refrigeration maintenance is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external vendors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel between locations as required.
Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include frequent sitting, walking, and standing, as well as the ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance. The work environment may involve exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime is essential.
