Position Summary:
Become an integral part of a dedicated team that fosters a nurturing and supportive environment for families in need. As a Family Support Counselor, your contributions will be vital in ensuring that families feel secure and cared for as they navigate their journey towards stable housing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating a warm, inviting atmosphere where all residents feel valued.
- Provide support to families by helping with daily activities, imparting essential life skills, and offering constructive advice.
- Document the progress of each family through simple notes.
- Participate in team meetings to exchange ideas and gain insights from colleagues.
- Ensure adherence to shelter guidelines to maintain a safe and productive environment.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
- Experience working with individuals from low-income backgrounds or those facing mental health challenges and/or substance use issues.
- Strong skills in verbal and written communication, teamwork, organization, and proficiency with technology.
