At ServiceNet, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Shelter Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our Shelter and Housing Division, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to families in need.
Job Summary:The Family Shelter Counselor will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing a safe and supportive atmosphere for families to thrive. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing counseling and guidance to families, focusing on daily living skills, recreational activities, and socialization.
- Supervising tasks within the motel and ensuring a healthy home-like environment.
- Writing log notes, progress notes, and other client record-keeping as assigned.
- Attending weekly staff meetings, biweekly supervisory sessions, and other scheduled meetings.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with individuals living on a low income, or those affected by mental health issues and/or addiction.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication, collaboration, organization, and computer skills.
- Bilingual candidates (Haitian Creole, Spanish, French, and/or Portuguese) are encouraged to apply.
