Collections Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to assist with the inventory and rehousing of the National Building Museum's Northwestern Terra Cotta collection.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Collections Manager and Senior Registrar to organize, catalogue, and photograph new acquisitions, as well as enter data into excel spreadsheets for bulk upload into the Museum's collections management database and collections website.
Responsibilities will include undergoing object handling training, cataloging training and review, and researching the history and use of specific tools as needed.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in collections management and contribute to the preservation of the Museum's collections.
Qualifications include enrollment in or recent graduation from a graduate program, previous experience with museum collections preferred, and knowledge of collections management databases and proper archival and collections management techniques.
