Job Summary

The Women's Health Nurse Manager is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the nursing functions within the Women's Health Department at Cornell Scott-Hill Health. This role requires a strong clinical background in OB/GYN nursing, as well as experience in leadership and management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the recruitment, retention, and training of nursing staff and medical assistants in the Women's Health Department.
  • Ensure clinical competency of nursing staff and medical assistants through ongoing education and training.
  • Develop and maintain written nursing protocols for the Women's Health Department.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director of Women's Health and QA/QI Nurse to lead Quality Improvement projects and chart reviews.
  • Work with QA/QI Nurse to ensure nursing staff meet regulatory and patient care standards.
  • Serve as a clinical nurse in the Women's Health Department, providing direct patient care and modeling clinical excellence.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the leadership team.
Requirements
  • Current CT Registered Nurse license and BLS certification.
  • 3-5 years of nursing experience, with 1-3 years of leadership experience in an OB/GYN clinical setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal to high volumes of stress.
  • Exposure to body fluids and hazardous chemicals requires adherence to OSHA standards and universal precautions.
