Job Description

The Construction Superintendent plays a pivotal role in the success of Keller Brothers, Inc. projects, overseeing daily construction activities and ensuring compliance with contract documents, schedules, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate and schedule trade/subcontractor activities, material/equipment deliveries, and project progress.
  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure work adheres to contract documents, trade/subcontractor scope of work, project schedules, and specifications.
  • Production and Efficiency: Maximize production, eliminate disruptions, and avoid downtime.
  • Dispute Resolution: Comprehend all scopes of work and aid in dispute resolution.
  • Field Tracking: Track field time, equipment, and materials relative to changes in work.
  • Safety and Quality Control: Implement and enforce all pertinent safety and quality control policies and procedures.
  • Business Development: Provide input on new and innovative ways to approach company needs and aid in business development and client relations.
Project-Specific Responsibilities
  • Project Schedule: Work with the Project Manager and trade/subcontractors to prepare a detailed master project schedule, monitor and update the project schedule, and develop, prepare, and monitor the three-week look-ahead schedule.
  • Meetings and Inspections: Participate in trade/subcontractor pre-construction meetings, owner progress meetings, and prepare, run, and document weekly trade/subcontractor coordination meetings, trade/subcontractor preparatory meetings, third-party and jurisdictional meetings and inspections, quality control meetings and inspections, and safety meetings and inspections.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain material and equipment delivery tracking logs, daily reports, project photographic records, project as-built records, and documentation of key issues through field correspondence.
Requirements
  • 7+ years' experience in the commercial construction industry, preferably in K-12 construction.
  • Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints.
  • In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and direct on-site project teams to successful completion.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
