Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, refine, and proofread various communication materials, including press releases, media outreach documents, external communications, surveys, social media content, article summaries, speaking engagement briefs, award submissions, and directory entries.
  • Foster media relations and manage external partnerships.
  • Collaborate with the PR Manager to create strategies and plans that support media and public relations efforts.
  • Identify and pursue earned media opportunities across designated markets, pitching to local media outlets.
  • Prepare legal professionals and consultants for media engagements, providing talking points and media training.
  • Monitor relevant award opportunities and legal/business surveys across all firm markets, ensuring the communications team is informed of upcoming deadlines.
  • Assist the social media manager in crafting and posting content as required.
  • Coordinate with the PR team to manage deadlines and submissions for various legal directories and rankings.
  • Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or English is preferred.
  • At least 4 years of experience in writing and editing materials.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in public relations.
  • Proven experience in managing communication projects, including extensive writing and editing, planning, and coordinating communications across various channels.
  • Strong writing and editing capabilities, with familiarity with AP style.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in a law firm or other professional services environment is preferred.
